An evergreen conifer from North America, which has long been grown in Latvia both in the old manor parks and in forest cultures. Up to 25 m high tree with a conical, later more oval crown up to 5 m wide and dark green needles. Decorative 5-10 cm long cones with "tongues" used in floristics. Dwarf forms are used in smaller gardens.
