Up to 30 m tall tree with a straight trunk and a broad crown formed by thick main branches. Bark gray, leaves 50-70 cm long, with ovate leaves in groups of 11-19. Fruits 5-7 cm long, about 3 cm wide, 3-5 together. The nuts are ripe black-brown, with 4 strongly developed and 4 underdeveloped ribs. Summer-green trees, in rare cases large shrubs with a broad crown, thick shoots. The leaves are alternate, large, oddly tufted.
